Can anyone tell me the name of an old Childrens book?

The book is about an animal making a cake and they have to go to te shop to get a missing ingredient and it leaves the cake mix on the window and as each different animal walks passed they add their favourite ingredient (carrots, fish ect...) and in the end the cake is horrible. Please please help, I'm driving myself crazy thinking about it. Any suggestions would be brill, thanks :-)
