How much does a first time book illustrator charge for a childrens book.?

Im drawing picture for (a friends) a childrens book and I have no idea what to ask for in reguards of being paid. I ant to be realistic with it. All I know is that i want to be paid and reembursted for supplies. And maybe royalties if thats even fesable. This is my dilema
